Message 1 The book seems very light and is marked - "{16}{4}{19}{1}The Art Of Blowing Things Up Properly - A GCSE chemistry course by Dr. Hugh John.{16}{6}{19}{0}" Message 2 It's a stick of dynamite with a small fuse attached. Message 3 They are small torpedo-like pills whose garish orange colour make my head ache even more. Message 4 The watering can is full of Message 5 It's just a piece of string. Message 6 It's a large, heavy house brick. Message 7 It's some very brown earth, really. Message 8 It's the talking bathroom scales which we threw away because of its abusive comments regarding our weight. Message 9 It's a long plastic hose-pipe, more often used for squirting the next door neighbour's cat with than actual gardening. Message 10 It's just a small match. Message 11 The leaflet is for,^{7}"{16}{4}{19}{1}Superquick-Dial-A-Pizza - The number 1 pizza delivery service. Call 051-367-8198{16}{6}{19}{0}". Message 12 It must have been used in last nights 'Stag party', though I am unable to recall when and for what - Come to think of it, I don't think I want to! Message 13 It's silver and bears the inscription, "{16}{4}{19}{1}Maxwell's{16}{6}{19}{0}". Message 14 It's a small industrial diamond. Message 15 It's the ring due to be presented to Rosie at the wedding - I shouldn't have gone in for the diamond type as it appears to be missing! Message 16 It's just your average^{7}"{16}{4}{19}{1}J.Salisbury's Trolley{16}{6}{19}{0}" complete with squeaky, unsteerable wheels. Message 17 It's quite a bit of money - I must spend it wisely. Message 18 It's a small "{16}{4}{19}{1}Never Ready{16}{6}{19}{0}" powerpack. Message 19 It's a sharp, chisel-like piece of metal. Message 20 It's a very posh suit indeed. Message 21 Unlike the real Statue of Liberty's torch this one is an screwable modern one. Message 22 It is the ring for Rosie, complete with diamond - Let's hope she doesn't look too closely! Message 23 It's a very flashy ring - no doubt Rosie will be impressed. Message 24 It's turtle food. Message 25 It's my best man who appears to be still under the effects of the alcohol consumed at last nights stag night. Message 26 His mouth is wide open. Message 27 My best man looks his usual dozy self - but his smart suit makes him less prat-like. Message 28 Don't bother about that! Message 29 I'd better not touch anything, as my mum would kill me - especially after my recent escapades in the 'post' adventure!! Message 30 It includes Bunsen burners, conical flasks, reduced pressure filtering equipment etc. - all things I remember from the horrors of my chemistry lessons at school. Message 31 I spy a particularly interesting one!... Message 32 It's cunningly positioned beneath the ceiling! Message 33 It's cunningly positioned above the floor! Message 34 I find some pills... Message 35 It has about the same interesting external features as most other toilets but lacks their content. Message 36 In the cistern I find a brick - It must have been placed there during that drought many years back... Message 37 Hanging up by a piece of string is a watering can. Message 38 It has a bandage on its nose!!! Message 39 I can see, erm... soil! Message 40 It's capable of collapsing any second. Message 41 I can see a tap. Message 42 On the sideboard is the coffee machine which daily produces drink with the same consistency of mud. A small slot allows the insertion of the vital ingredients. Message 43 On top of the oven I find a small match... Message 44 Beside the stairs is a small table and a radiator. Message 45 On the table is a telephone. Message 46 It's not a portable telephone! Message 47 It looks quite normal. Message 48 It's a battered old sofa from MFI. Message 49 The TV is presently showing an Australian programme - we really must have had a few last night! Message 50 It has a hose-pipe attached to it. Message 51 They're very overgrown. Message 52 In them I find a hosepipe... Message 53 It's unlocked and open! Message 54 Get back to the game in hand! Message 55 The drill bit is a small diamond!... Message 56 There's nothing on it. Message 57 Under the bench, I find a hammer... Message 58 The equipment doesn't prove at all interesting to a person as late for a wedding as I am. Message 59 It looks like I'll have to continue on foot. Message 60 It is mutated! Glancing in the trolley reveals several empty^{7}"{16}{4}{19}{1}J.Salisbury's{16}{6}{19}{0}" plastic bags - who knows what toxic substances were contained in the depths of those brown carriers?!? Message 61 The dog lies on the ground here, 'knocked out' by the explosion. Message 62 "{16}{4}{19}{1}What are you looking at?{16}{6}{19}{0}" she asks. Message 63 I spy a good-looking holiday in St. Tropez, but it's well out of my price range. The holiday in Cornwall, however, looks like an excellent honeymoon. Message 64 It says, "{16}{4}{19}{1}Please insert your card.{16}{6}{19}{0}" Message 65 It's meant to be an original work by a Scumsville resident, however I have severe doubts about its originality as it Message 66 is Message 67 was Message 68 carrying a torch and looks remarkably like something seen on a visit to America. Message 69 In the window, Message 70 which is smashed, Message 71 a suit and also Message 72 a dress. Message 73 A sign beneath it reads -^{7}"{16}{4}{19}{1}Dirt-proof dress as worn by Princess Gertrude. Guaranteed against the muck from rat-infested sewers and the ground-in mud gathered when climbing castle walls!{16}{6}{19}{0}" Message 74 He looks totally 'brassed off' with his job! Message 75 I see a nice one, but the price is a bit expensive. Message 76 "{16}{4}{19}{1}Hiya, Ernie!{16}{6}{19}{0}" he says, as I recoil from his foul breath. Message 77 Robin stirs but then moans and lapses into unconsciousness yet again. Message 78 How? He's asleep. Message 79 I carefully open Robin's mouth. Message 80 I pour the coffee into Robin's mouth and with a splutter he awakens. Message 81 The coffee goes everywhere! Message 82 Robin glances at his watch and shrieks with dismay.^{7}"{16}{4}{19}{1}My god!{16}{6}{19}{0}" he moans. "{16}{4}{19}{1}I've got so much to do. See you at the church Ernie!{16}{6}{19}{0}".^{7} Message 83 He quickly returns and, almost sobbing, apologizes for the fact that he's forgotten to book the honeymoon.^{7}"{16}{4}{19}{1}You'll have to do it, Ernie!{16}{6}{19}{0}" he says. As he leaves, for the second time, something drops out of his pocket... Message 84 I get the scales out of the bin! Message 91 I hurriedly gulp down the 'night before' anti-hangover pills and my thudding headache subsides. Message 92 The watering can crashes to the floor as I get the piece of string... Message 93 The piece of string kept it attached to the wall, so I now also have the wall in my possession. Unfortunately, I can't help thinking that the wall would be better positioned under the ceiling - The same ceiling that my actions have caused to come crashing down on my head... Message 94 I scoop up a handful of the muddy soil. Message 95 It's full of rubbish. Message 96 It contains the bathroom scales. Message 97 It's empty. Message 98 I empty most of the rubbish from the bin, throwing it through a cunningly placed programmer's hole. (A crafty little device that also conveniently dissolves dead monsters, apple cores and water!) Message 99 No need! Message 100 I connect the hose-pipe up to the tap. Message 101 My goodness! Inside I can see a stick of dynamite, which falls onto the floor... Message 102 I can take no more. I collapse, my head thudding, and darkness consumes me... Message 103 It is Message 104 empty. Message 105 filled with soil. Message 106 filled with water. Message 107 filled with mud. Message 108 filled with coffee. Message 109 It has a small switch on it. Message 110 With what? Message 111 I put the soil into the machine. Message 112 I put some water into the machine using the hose-pipe. Message 113 It doesn't contain the necessary ingredients... yet! Message 114 After several minutes of bubbling and spitting the coffee is made. Message 115 I fill the watering can with coffee. Message 116 A cloud of smoke engulfs the room and I hastily slam the oven door shut again... guess who's been cooking! Message 117 I slide my hand behind the radiator and pull out a leaflet that must have fallen down there. Message 118 A voice on the other end says,^{7}"{16}{4}{19}{1}Which service do you require?{16}{6}{19}{0}"^{7}On a sudden impulse, I do my heavy breathing routine.^{7}"{16}{4}{19}{1}Get a life, Ernie.{16}{6}{19}{0}" says the operator as she slams the phone down. Message 119 There is a bleeping noise. Message 120 Aha! The phone at the other end starts ringing. In seconds it is answered.^{7}"{16}{4}{19}{1}What d'ya want?{16}{6}{19}{0}" growls a voice.^{7}"{16}{4}{19}{1}A pizza.{16}{6}{19}{0}" I reply.^{7}"{16}{4}{19}{1}A WHAT?{16}{6}{19}{0}"^{7}"{16}{4}{19}{1}erm... a pizza?{16}{6}{19}{0}" I say.^{7}"{16}{4}{19}{1}We ain't got none.{16}{6}{19}{0}"^{7}"{16}{4}{19}{1}But you're 'Dial-a-pizza' aren't you?{16}{6}{19}{0}" I ask.^{7}"{16}{4}{19}{1}Nah - This is Scumsville community centre. Get lost, creep!{16}{6}{19}{0}"^{7}I try again and in seconds a pizza is ordered... Message 121 Behind the sofa I find a moose's head!!! Message 122 ^{7}The pizza delivery man gives me a pizza. Message 123 ^{7}The pizza man sees me and screams loudly - "{16}{4}{19}{1}Oh my god! A moose with Ernie's body!!{16}{6}{19}{0}" He runs away at top speed. Message 124 I climb into the van Message 125 The driver comes up to me and says, "{16}{4}{19}{1}Oh, get lost.{16}{6}{19}{0}" He then drives the van away. Message 126 . Like a bat out of hell I drive for several miles until there is a splutter and the engine coughs and dies. (I get out and bury the poor thing by the roadside)... Message 127 Robin says, "{16}{4}{19}{1}Ok, Ernie!{16}{6}{19}{0}" and climbs in. Message 128 ^{7}The trolley rolls off down the hill. Drats! Message 129 The trolley starts moving down the hill at a rapid pace. Message 130 I hurriedly jump into the trolley and race down the hill at top speed. In seconds we arrive in Scumsville town centre... Message 131 I need to get the trolley moving first! Message 132 The dynamite is now lit. Message 133 With a loud noise resembling^{7}"{16}{4}{19}{1}KABOOOOOM!{16}{6}{19}{0}", the dynamite expodes. I only have time to realize just how good my brother is at making dynamite before I collapse in an unsavoury mess on the floor... Message 134 I hear a loud explosion from the south! Message 135 The dog gives a low growl and starts singing "M.C. Hammer' songs. I'd better not risk grabbing the trolley - who knows what the dog will do in his unstable state of mind. Message 136 I get the trolley - well, I'm actually pushing it, but you try carting a trolley around. Message 137 "{16}{4}{19}{1}A honeymoon sounds like great fun, I'm sure.{16}{6}{19}{0}" she says. Message 138 Unfortunately, I don't have enough money on me. Message 139 I hand over the money and I'm reasured by the assistant that the honeymoon is now booked and they'll get the tickets to me in time. Message 140 The scales says, "{16}{4}{19}{1}I'll help you if you get me some fresh batteries!{16}{6}{19}{0}". Message 141 The scales says, "{16}{4}{19}{1}Not here!{16}{6}{19}{0}". Message 142 The scales have a chat with the cash machine -^{7}"{16}{4}{19}{1}Hey mate, you still goin' out with that dishy little alarm clock?{16}{6}{19}{0}" he asks.^{7}"{16}{4}{19}{1}Nah!{16}{6}{19}{0}" replies the cash machine.^{7}"{16}{4}{19}{1}She dumped me for some flippin' PC clone.{16}{6}{19}{0}"^{7}"{16}{4}{19}{1}Ahem!{16}{6}{19}{0}". My verbal prompting reminds the scales of the task in hand. Message 143 "{16}{4}{19}{1}Listen, Colin.{16}{6}{19}{0}" says the scales. "{16}{4}{19}{1}We need some dosh real fast, like. Do you think you could...{16}{6}{19}{0}"^{7}"{16}{4}{19}{1}Anything for a pal, Sam.{16}{6}{19}{0}" says the cash machine, "{16}{4}{19}{1}Ere goes.{16}{6}{19}{0}"^{7}Out of the slot comes some money which I instantly grab. Message 144 I put the battery into the scales. Message 145 I remove the torch using the hammer and chisel. Message 146 The statue's stone hand holds it firmly in place. Message 147 This action produces a battery. Message 148 The brick sails through the window, smashing it in the process. Message 149 "{16}{4}{19}{1}Thanks!{16}{6}{19}{0}" says Gazza. "{16}{4}{19}{1}I've been looking for that!{16}{6}{19}{0}". Message 150 ^{7}The pizza van arrives. Message 151 ^{7}The man gets out of the van, carrying a pizza. Message 152 ^{7}The pizza man walks up to the doorstep. Message 153 ^{7}The pizza man stands waiting. Message 154 ^{7}The pizza man leaves the pizza and walks back to the van. Message 155 ^{7}The man gets back into the van and drives off. Message 156 With what? Message 157 I hand over my money and get a brand new ring in exchange. Message 158 The shopkeeper says, "{16}{4}{19}{1}Very well - Just this once mind.{16}{6}{19}{0}" and takes the diamond and ring from me. In a few minutes he returns and hands me the ring explaining, "{16}{4}{19}{1}It's the best I can do - The industrial diamond should fool 'em for a while. Message 159 {16}{4}{19}{1} When yer get back from the church I'll do a proper job on it!{16}{6}{19}{0}". I thank him for his kindness. Message 160 He says, "{16}{4}{19}{1}Can I interest you in one of my rings, Ernie?{16}{6}{19}{0}". Message 161 {16}{3}{19}{1}Congratulations!{16}{6} {19}{0}You've managed to guide me to the church on time with all the necessary stuff!^{7} Message 162 Hurrah, I've got to the ceremony on time!^{7} Message 163 The wedding goes like clockwork. Unfortunately, no honeymoon had been booked and so Rosie left in tears... Message 164 It's just a pity I forgot to bring my best man!... Message 165 Unfortunately, Rosie wasn't impressed by the missing diamond in her ring!... Message 166 It's just a shame I forgot the ring!... Message 167 Unfortunately, Rosie wasn't at all impressed by my lack of suitable attire. Neither were her family... Message 168 As the ceremony progresses, out of the corner of my eye, I see a small hamster talking to the scales. No doubt he's offering the scales untold riches to star in another DTHS game. Do I care? No way... Message 169 {16}{5}{19}{1} Coming soon from DTHS^{7}^{7} {16}{7}Ernie Spludge III^{7}^{7} The Revenge Of The Scales^{7}^{7} (This time he's humorous)^{7}^{7}{19}{0}^{7} Message 170 ...Ernie Spludge opened his eyes, his head thudding wildly, and said, "{16}{4}{19}{1}Oh my God!{16}{6}{19}{0}".^{7} Message 171 The reason for this profanity is blatantly obvious to followers of his adventures, for today was the day that he was to be married to Miss Rosie Cheeques at 13.00 o'clock, at Scumsville Parish Church. Still confused?^{7} Message 172 The sad fact is that Ernie has just awoken from his stag night, he has an awful hangover, he can't see his best man, and, more importantly, he has just realized it's 11:00 o'clock. Add to this the fact that he hasn't got a car, and is currently positioned 20 miles away from the church and you'll realize that some help from you is needed.^{7} Message 173 Simply get Ernie to the church on time... but don't forget the best man, the ring and... well, that would be telling!... Message 174 A good idea. Unfortunately, it has been screwed down on the work surface because it tended to wobble when making coffee! Message 175 With what? System Message 59 The only exit is through my bedroom door to the south. System Message 60 Light streams through the windows here making my head throb in pain. I feel awful! System Message 61 The landing is a small step away to the west. System Message 62 Standing on the path at this present moment is a^{7}"{16}{4}{19}{1}Dial-a-pizza{16}{7}{19}{0}" van. System Message 63 A trolley has been carelessly left here. System Message 64 What looks like a dog is also visible - I say "looks like a dog" because it appears to have mutated. System Message 65 The mutated dog lies stunned on the ground. System Message 66 The exit is to the north. System Message 67 A spotty teenager, who answers (albeit reluctantly) to the name of 'Gazza', stands chaining up the trolleys. He must have been doing it since last night! System Message 68 The only exit, due to the shop being closed, lies to the north. System Message 69 nothing - An amazing air-like substance with amazing physical properties. System Message 70 coffee. Presents... Location 1 ^{7}^{7}{16}{7}I am standing in the untidy room in my house that serves as my sleeping quarters. Location 2 ^{7}^{7}{16}{7}This is my parents' room. A boring place, really, which contains little to interest me. The door leads out to the southwest. Location 3 ^{7}^{7}{16}{7}What was once a spare room now acts as the bedroom to my adopted younger brother. It's filled with chemistry equipment and books line the shelves on the walls. Luckily, my 'little brother' is not here at the moment. The landing is to the east. Location 4 ^{7}^{7}{16}{7}Since my last adventure the landing has not gained any interesting features. It's still simply a small strip of carpeted floor with exits to the east, west, north and northeast. The hall is visible down the stairs. Location 5 ^{7}^{7}{16}{7}I am in the bathroom. A cramped room filled entirely by a bath, a toilet, and basin which leaves little room for the small cupboard here. Location 6 ^{7}^{7}{16}{7}The shed is an almost empty, disused little shack whose walls look anything but stable. The battered old door leads out to the east. Location 7 ^{7}^{7}{16}{7}This is our small, 6 foot by 6 foot garden (complete with gnome). The dead flowers have been recently cleared away leaving an empty patch of inhospitable soil incapable of supporting even the most basic forms of life. Next to the 'plot' is a bin. As well as the door into the house to the east here I also have the opportunity of looking round the battered old shed which lies to the west. Location 8 ^{7}^{7}{16}{7}The usual sink, sideboard and oven all lie in my mother's lair - called "The Kitchen". In her attempts at cooking she must surely be responsible for creating more smoke than three dragons put together. The hall lies to the east, while the back door leads out to the west. Location 9 ^{7}^{7}{16}{7}This is the hallway which is painted in the most 'shocking' colour possible - This is our thinly disguised method of cutting down on the number of visitors we have. Doorways here lead both east and west, while to the south is the main door and the stairs lead upwards to the landing. Location 10 ^{7}^{7}{16}{7}A haphazard arrangement of a sofa and battered old tv set form what we call the 'living room'. The door lies west and will take me out into the hallway. Location 11 ^{7}^{7}{16}{7}I am on the doorstep of the house with the main door, in front of me, to the north. Beside the door is a small brass plaque which reads "{16}{4}{19}{1}54 Tinderbox Gardens. Residence of the Spludges{16}{7}{19}{0}". To the south is the front garden. Location 12 ^{7}^{7}{16}{7}Weeds and overgrown grass make up the majority of the front garden, though a path for visiting cars etc does lead out through the gate to the south. Location 13 ^{7}^{7}{16}{7}I stand beside the road called^{7}"{16}{4}{19}{1}Tinderbox Gardens{16}{7}{19}{0}" with exits visible to the north and east. Of course, I could always try crossing the road - but I don't fancy my chances against the cars that scream past here at high speeds! Location 14 ^{7}^{7}{16}{7}I am at the bus-stop which the sign here proclaims as being^{7}"{16}{4}{19}{1}CLosed in order to make the game harder{16}{7}{19}{0}". The only exit is west. Location 15 ^{7}^{7}{16}{7}I am at the northern end of the small workshop. A large drilling machine stands in one corner here. To the south is the other side of the room. Location 16 ^{7}^{7}{16}{7}This is a small workshop with various benches and equipment in its confines, the rest of which lie to the north. A rickety old door leads out to the south. Location 17 ^{7}^{7}{16}{7}I am standing besides the^{7}"{16}{4}{19}{1}Dial-a-Pizza{16}{7}{19}{0}" van which has chosen to break down. The road towards the town leads east but I am a long way away from my goal yet. Location 18 ^{7}^{7}{16}{7}At this point on the eastward running road a small workshop stands alone to the north. Painted on faded lettering on its sign are the words^{7}" "^{7}Yep, it's that faded! Back to the west is the pizza van. Location 19 ^{7}^{7}{16}{7}Standing in this section of the road, that runs east to west, I can see a patch of undeveloped land to the south. Further to the east the dust and grimy buildings of Scumsville are faintly visible. Location 20 ^{7}^{7}{16}{7}I am at the top of the hill. To the east, at the bottom, is the town of Scumsville. It is far too long a way to walk - maybe an alternative method of transport is needed. Location 21 ^{7}^{7}{16}{7}I am on a patch of undeveloped council land. Location 22 ^{7}^{7}{16}{7}I am inside the travel agents. Around me, I can see all the usual posters and leaflets full of expertly shot photos of hotels etc. (cunningly missing out the huge construction site next to them!). Behind the desk here sits a bored-looking woman. The door leads out to the south. Location 23 ^{7}^{7}{16}{7}I am standing outside the Scumsville Bank which, as usual, is closed. A small cash dispenser sits in the wall here. The High Street is to the south. Location 24 ^{7}^{7}{16}{7}This is Scumsville's main High Street which runs off to the east. This shopping centre is brand new, but unfortunately not many companies have taken advantage of the site and it remains empty for the most part. Location 25 ^{7}^{7}{16}{7}At this point in the High Street I can see the "{16}{4}{19}{1}Sun Lolly{16}{7}{19}{0}" travel agents to the north and^{7}"{16}{4}{19}{1}J.Salisbury{16}{7}{19}{0}" supermarket to the south. Other exits lie to the east and west. Location 26 ^{7}^{7}{16}{7}In this location the High Street is interrupted by the presence of a small square which contains Scumsville's only statue. The High street leads onwards to the east and west. Location 27 ^{7}^{7}{16}{7}Here, the High Street bends down from the west to the south. This is undoubtably to stop it ploughing through the clothes shop which lies to the east. Also visible is a bank to the north. Location 28 ^{7}^{7}{16}{7}I am standing outside a clothes shop. Like most shops in Scumsville on a Saturday, it's closed. However, I can amuse myself by looking through the window at its wares. The exit lies to the west. Location 29 ^{7}^{7}{16}{7}I am standing outside the supermarket of "{16}{4}{19}{1}J.Salisbury{16}{7}{19}{0}". Location 30 ^{7}^{7}{16}{7}The High Street leads to both the north and south past various empty shops. Location 31 ^{7}^{7}{16}{7}To the east of this High Street location lies a small jewellers which, like the travel agents, has decided to open on a Saturday (Scumsville's public holiday!). To the north and south the High Street continues to be relatively boring. Location 32 ^{7}^{7}{16}{7}I am inside the jewellers where I can see a counter full of expensive rings and bracelets. Behind the counter stands the shopkeeper, his friendly smile somewhat affected by the deteriorating quality of his teeth. The exit lies to the west. Location 33 Location 34 ^{7}^{7}{16}{7}To the north is the High Street, while to the west I can see the church in which I am due to be married. Various relatives stand near it wondering, no doubt, when I will arrive. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- CONNECTIONS ----------- Location 1: S 4 Location 2: SW 4 Location 3: E 4 Location 4: N 1 E 5 W 3 NE 2 DESCE 9 S 9 Location 5: W 4 Location 6: E 7 Location 7: W 6 E 8 Location 8: E 9 W 7 Location 9: ASCEN 4 E 10 W 8 S 11 N 4 Location 10: W 9 Location 11: N 9 S 12 Location 12: S 13 N 11 Location 13: N 12 E 14 Location 14: W 13 Location 15: S 16 Location 16: S 18 N 15 Location 17: E 18 Location 18: W 17 N 16 E 19 Location 19: S 21 E 20 W 18 Location 20: W 19 Location 21: N 19 Location 22: S 25 Location 23: S 27 Location 24: E 25 Location 25: N 22 S 29 E 26 W 24 Location 26: E 27 W 25 Location 27: N 23 E 28 S 30 W 26 Location 28: W 27 Location 29: N 25 Location 30: N 27 S 31 Location 31: N 30 E 32 S 34 Location 32: W 31 Location 34: N 31 W 33 -------------------------------------------------------------------------- OBJECT NAMES ------------ Object 0 Object 1 {16}{7}A chemistry book.
