With a puff of smoke, the very flashy (and very fast) 'Beta-rad' four postron injection orbital zooms off into the sky, its L-plates gleaming in the light... Message 3 Message 4 Message 5 It is a black 'dress' suit Message 6 which is rather crushed due to the fact that it hasn't been hung up neatly Message 7 On the side of the sweet packet a sticker reads "{16}{5}SNOWPOP - fizzy sherbet{16}{7}". Message 8 It is filled with that very same sherbet. Message 9 It's a transparent plastic bag. Message 10 It is filled with sherbet. Message 11 It is a Grecian pie! Message 12 It's just your average^{7}"{16}{5}Hobgoblin{16}{7}" hoover with the usual two buttons, one is {16}{4}green{16}{7} and the other {16}{5}blue{16}{7}. Message 13 Why blow your own when you can blow somebody elses? Message 14 The kind that makes your car go "{16}{5}Brooooom... brooooooooooom{16}{7}". (Or "{16}{5}Broooo... stall.{16}{7}" if Gareth's driving!) Message 15 The spray can is red in colour and full of paint. A small sticker on the can reads, "{16}{5}Re-used object from M.M.{16}{7}". Message 16 It is a golden leaf. (Well I never?) Message 17 It is a smooth round pebble. Message 18 It is a transparent plastic pill bottle. It contains Message 19 some pills. Message 20 some petrol. Message 21 a quark. Message 22 nothing. Message 23 They are small round electron pills. There are Message 24 black ones and Message 25 red ones. Message 26 Loadsa dosh! Message 27 It is a small black box with a single button on it. Message 28 It is a nozzle attachment for some sort of weird device and appears to have lots of electronics etc. inside it. Message 29 It is an ion of 'snard' - a rather large electron 'element'. Message 30 It is a small computer chip. Message 31 It's a brightly glowing quark which doesn't look too pleased with the fact that it's trapped inside the pill jar. Message 32 It is a crumpled piece of paper with the numbers "{16}{5}0514{16}{7}" on it. Message 33 It's just a fanbelt. Message 34 It is bright red and is Message 35 vibrating slightly. Message 36 bouncing around. Message 37 There's no blankets or sheets on an electron bed - It automatically adjusts its charge so it slightly repels the sleeping electrons, and they in fact sleep on a 'cushion' of air. Message 38 Well, even electrons need clothes and this is where they keep them Message 39 In the wardrobe, Edmond finds a suit... Message 40 "{16}{5}Elecky Bear{16}{7}" is the electron equivalent of 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Terrapins' or whatever they're called!?! Message 41 Yuk! What a colour! Message 42 It is Message 43 It is a black Newton's cradle. Message 44 A baby sits in it, madly screaming. Message 45 Let's get rid of the baby first, eh? Message 46 In the cradle, Edmond finds a sweet packet... Message 47 It is a little baby electron which might have been classed as 'cute' but for the large volume of noise it is currently making. Message 48 It seems less than pleased with the fact that it's six foot up in the air at this moment. Message 49 Ha Ha! Someone's obviously on a diet in this house - There's a combination lock on the cupboard. Message 50 In the cupboard, Edmond finds a Pi!.. Message 51 It's sort of like a cupboard, but one with no door and one that lies on its back and slides in and out. In fact, on reflection, it's not much like a cupboard at all! Message 52 In the drawer, Edmond finds a plastic bag... Message 53 Aha! Beneath the stairs Edmond spies a cupboard. Message 54 I suppose you could class cupboards as 'small rooms' really. Message 55 Inside the cupboard, Edmond finds a hoover... Message 56 It's a very flashy Beta-rad four positron injection orbital. Message 57 A quick peek in its tank shows it's got no fuel! Message 58 Edmond isn't too interested in that now he's got through it. Message 59 The window's name is Fred, and it is married with no children and spends its free time listening to Deacon Blue and playing DTHS games - well, what else would you want to know about a window? Message 60 Edmond examines the floor for several minutes, but finds nothing interesting. Message 61 Edmond spends some time admiring his rather heavy-handed painting of the floor! Message 62 Edmond hopes the owner won't notice the 'minor' damage to the door. Message 63 A useful device which enables even the most dozy of adventurers easy entrance to buildings and other rooms etc. Message 64 It's just your average roundish neutron. Message 65 The door is locked, bolted, reinforced, chained etc. so any passing adventurers can't get in. Message 66 They are really not much to write home about. Message 67 Aha! Edmond spots a golden leaf among them... Message 68 How can you examine a gap? A gap is an absence of something! Message 69 He's a brightly glowing subatomic particle who's taking great delight in making Edmond duck. Message 70 Read the location text, matey! Message 71 Edmond finds a small trumpet!.. Message 72 He says, "{16}{6}Well, they didn't like me playing at the microfair so I came here.{16}{7}"^{7}Edmond, not recognizing an 'in' joke when he hears one, doesn't have a clue what he's talking about. Message 73 She's knitting. She doesn't look too comfortable, in fact she looks all hot and bothered. Message 74 It consists of perpendicular planks of wood raised slightly off the ground. Message 75 In the bushes, Edmond spies a weird-looking creature. "{16}{6}What are you doing here?{16}{7}" asks Edmond.^{7}"{16}{6}Shush!{16}{7}" says the creature. "{16}{6}I'm hiding from some orcs.{16}{7}" Edmond decides to leave the creature alone. Message 76 It is a complete write-off and poor old Edmond only had it insured '3rd party' as well. Message 77 There's a small bonnet at the front of the smashed orbital. Message 78 Edmond searches through the wreckage and retrieves his invaluable pill bottle. Message 79 Edmond can see a fanbelt connected to the engine. Message 80 She's wearing a high-cut dress and black fishnet stockings. She smiles at Edmond. "{16}{6}Strewth.{16}{7}" he thinks. "{16}{6}She must be one of them there 'loose' electrons I've read about in books!{16}{7}". Message 81 Do you mind - We're trying very hard to keep this a family adventure. Message 82 Loud music comes from within. Two bouncers stand at the door. Message 83 From their name badges Edmond can see they're called Norman and Neil. Edmond doesn't recommend messing with them! Message 84 A slogan on it reads, "{16}{5}Keep Your Atom Tidy{16}{7}". Message 85 The dog growls at you! Message 86 Edmond finds a piece of paper in the bin... Message 87 Hmm... it's not much to look at really. Message 88 It's sort of roundish... Message 89 They are covered, not surprisingly, with leaves. Message 90 Oh well, I had to put a 'dog problem' in, didn't I? Message 91 Edmond looks out across the sea, carefully noting the industrial areas on the other side of the south and west. Message 92 Edmond examines about on the bed of the lake and finds a pebble. "{16}{6}Wow!{16}{7}" thinks Edmond. "{16}{6}How useful.{16}{7}" Edmond, I think, is being sarcastic. Message 93 Edmond had better not touch it otherwise... well, you've been warned. Message 94 It's sort of a hole which is... erm... black - well, you try and describe it then! Message 95 Edmond, surprisingly, finds an ion of the electron element '{16}{5}snard{16}{7}'... Message 96 There's a small slot in one of the pieces of equipment. Message 97 He has a mane of white hair and very thick round glasses. Message 98 He says, "{16}{6}I am making an electroscope. A useful device vich vill enable me to determine the charge of a thing!{16}{7}". Edmond attempts to look interested. Message 99 Edmond can't find anything of much use to him, but then he's a rather thick electron and wouldn't know what to look for. Message 100 If I were to attempt an 'in' joke I'd say they looked like something out of a Sainsbury's staff canteen, but I won't. Message 101 Edmond is rather surprised to find a small computer chip in the centre of the plate. Message 102 Poor Edmond can see no possible way out! Message 103 "{16}{6}Right...{16}{7}" says Fred to his fellow workmen, "{16}{6}Let's have our lunch break.{16}{7}"^{7}"{16}{6}But, Boss.{16}{7}" says Robert. "{16}{6}We haven't brought our sandwiches.{16}{7}"^{7}The workmen turn to look at Edmond. Edmond thinks, "{16}{6}Could this be a cue from the programmers?{16}{7}" Message 104 The workmen are pointing at their stomachs and moaning. Message 105 The workmen are doing the minimum amount of work. Message 106 Due to the limited imagination of the author, the electron fuel pumps look surprisingly like those used by humans. Message 107 The portal seems to spend a lot of its time shimmering in a rather boring manner. Of minimal interest to Edmond is the fact that through the portal, he can see some trees. Message 108 Edmond carefully 'ions' out all the creases in the suit. Message 109 Edmond can hear the faint gurgling of a baby. Message 110 The baby electron's continual screaming has attracted the attention of its parents who rush in to see what's wrong. Needless to say, they are not pleased with Edmond's presence in their household. In fact, the male electron seems to want to demonstrate this fact with his fist. Edmond's (and your) adventure ends here... Message 111 Edmond pops it into the baby's mouth and the young electron, thinking that the pill is a sweet, swallows it. Message 112 Nothing, however, seems to happen. Message 113 The baby gives a startled cry as it floats six foot up in the air, repelled by the -ve Newton's cradle. Message 114 Edmond thinks that if a colour of pill was specified it might help him somewhat. Message 115 Edmond performs this simple task. I wouldn't expect any points for it, though. Message 116 Putting aside all of his natural kindness, Edmond gives the poor baby a light shove in the back Message 117 and it charges bang into the window and lets out a large scream! Message 118 and it floats gently out of the open window. The room falls silent. Message 119 The baby starts to wail as he sees Edmond. Message 120 Edmond refuses to pick up the little monster. Message 121 Edmond rocks the cradle but the baby screams even more. "{16}{6}Horrid little brat!{16}{7}" thinks Edmond. Message 122 Edmond's vocal prowess, though resembling Chris Rea with a cold, are not of the magnitude that they would send the little beggar to sleep. Message 123 Edmond doesn't fancy plummeting several metres to his death. At least... not today, anyway! Message 124 No matter how hard Edmond pulls on it, it refuses to budge. Message 125 Edmond types {16}{5}0514{16}{7} on the keypad and there is a small clicking noise. Message 126 A small, metallic computerized voice says, "{16}{6}Get lost, fatso. You can have your meals at the specified times like everyone else.{16}{7}" Message 127 Edmond does. Message 128 Edmond does. He has the feeling that didn't help him very much. Message 129 Edmond feels that it would be beneficial if you specified what he should empty it into. Message 130 Edmond transfers the white sherbet into the plastic bag. Message 131 Edmond doesn't quite see the point of doing this, and so he doesn't! Message 132 Edmond has a small taste of the sherbet. There is a loud pop and Edmond feels as though his head has exploded. His tongue feels like it is on fire and his eyes spin round in his head. In a few seconds he returns to normal.^{7}"{16}{6}Hmmm.{16}{7}" thinks Edmond. "{16}{6}They make it slightly stronger than in my youth!{16}{7}" Message 133 Edmond can hear the sound of a TV and two people talking. Message 134 Edmond climbs into the orbital. He can see all the usual controls. Message 135 The cupboard door is now open. Message 136 Edmond climbs out of the orbital. Message 137 Edmond knows how to use them. Message 138 Edmond finds this slightly impossible due to the fact he's not in it! Message 139 Edmond can't, the orbital doesn't have any fuel in it. Message 140 Edmond takes off in the orbital and zooms into the sky. Thanks to you he'll now be able to return home... Message 141 Edmond doesn't fancy jumping down that distance so it looks as though he's stuck up here. Message 142 Edmond has all the musical prowess of a maestro - the car, that is. Message 143 Edmond blows the trumpet in an attempt to make music and the small pebble he placed in it shoots out. Message 144 The pebble deftly defys the laws of gravity and shoots through the nearby window, smashing it! Message 145 Edmond sprays the floor with red paint. Message 146 Edmond floats a few feet off the ground. Message 147 Edmond shoots several metres up into the air. Message 148 Unfortunately, his head collides with the window above rendering him unconscious. When he comes to he's surrounded by police electrons called in by the owner. His objects are removed from his person and he's taken away... Message 149 He sails out of the window. Message 150 He unfortunately keeps soaring skywards, he's now a mile or so in the air. Needless to say, when the effects of his positive pill runs out his end will be painful... Message 151 Edmond quickly eats a black pill in order to stop himself from soaring off into the sky. He lands on the roof of the proton. Message 152 Edmond would but he hasn't suddenly acquired 10 foot long arms! Message 153 Edmond thinks that's a great idea but he'd like to know how! Message 154 Edmond throws the pebble upwards but due to the intervention of gravity all that happens is it falls back and hits him on his head. Message 155 As Edmond is floating several feet off the ground at the moment, he has problems with that instruction. Message 156 The hoover is filled to capacity. Message 157 Voooooooooom! (For those of you without the neccessary imagination, that was a hoover sound.) Message 158 !mooooooooooV (That's the hoover running backwards by the way.) Message 159 There is a large bang as the antimatter explodes. Message 160 This has had the effect of removing a significant portion of the door before you. Message 161 Edmond steps boldly forward through the doorway. Unfortuntely, the doorway is currently occupied by the presence of a door which has rather a negative effect on his movement. Message 162 Edmond walks forward and bounces back off some strange repelling force. Message 163 Edmond climbs up the tree and has a look around. But all he can see is a weird-shaped object with four wheels. It's marked "{16}{5}Property of J.Sainsbury plc. - Not to be removed from the store!{16}{7}" Having no idea whether this is a game object or merely a feeble attempt at an 'in' joke, Edmond climbs down again. Message 164 In what? Message 165 Edmond would attempt to do so but the bottle doesn't seem to be empty. Message 166 Edmond bottles up the poor old Quark - it glows angrily at him. Message 167 What a racket!! Message 168 The old lady says, "{16}{6}Gosh. It's hot today, isn't it?{16}{7}"^{7}Edmond nods his head not wanting to point out to the aged electron that it's 5 kelvin in the shade! Message 169 Using the fan belt, Edmond fans the old lady. She says, "{16}{6}Thanks. I feel a lot cooler now.{16}{7}", and gives Edmond the jumper she's been knitting as a reward. She then leaves. Message 170 It's nice and warm. Message 171 Edmond drops the jumper and, to his surprise, it starts bouncing around! Message 172 Edmond opens up the bonnet of the orbital. Inside he can see the engine. Message 173 It's attached to the engine. Message 174 Edmond removes the fanbelt from the engine and picks it up. Message 175 The loose electron says nothing, just smiles. Message 176 Edmond'll have to pay for that!! Message 177 Edmond gives the money to the electron. She motions for Edmond to follow into a nearby alley-way which he does. Once there she reaches into her pocket and pulls out an ID badge.^{7}"{16}{6}Undercover police!{16}{7}" she says.^{7}"{16}{6}You are under arrest.{16}{7}"^{7}Ignoring Edmond's protests she takes him to a waiting police orbital and to the station. Once there, Edmond is thrown into a small cell... Message 178 Edmond is 'knocked back'.^{7}"{16}{6}You can't come in 'ere lookin' like that!{16}{7}" says Norman. Message 179 Norman looks at Edmond's suit.^{7}"{16}{6}It'll do.{16}{7}" he says and he lets him into the club... Message 180 Ahh... what a lovely melody. Message 181 Edmond 'gets down' to the music. However, his style of dancing would be likened to a hurricane as he flings arms and legs everywhere, hitting people in the crowd. Message 182 The Baron's attention is not on Edmond. Message 183 The Baron says, "{16}{6}Have you got it?{16}{7}". Message 184 The Baron says, "{16}{6}Give it here, then.{16}{7}". Message 185 "{16}{6}Don't mess me about or you'll regret it. Now give me the goods.{16}{7}" says the Baron. Message 186 The Baron clicks his fingers and his bodyguards appear. "{16}{6}Take him outside.{16}{7}" he says. "{16}{6}You know what to do.{16}{7}" Edmond has a feeling that this is the end... Message 187 The Baron hands Edmond a wad of money. Message 188 The Baron's bodyguards grab hold of Edmond and he is brought before the Baron. He points to the bag of sherbet.^{7}"{16}{6}What is the meaning of this trickery?{16}{7}" he asks. "{16}{6}You'll regret this!{16}{7}"^{7}The Baron gives the signal to his bodyguards and Edmond's adventure ends here... Message 189 Norman says, "{16}{6}The Baron wants to see you!{16}{7}" He calls the bodyguards. Message 190 The dog sees the rather strange jumper and chases it out of the location. Message 191 Edmond finds himself being pulled in by the pump of one of the industrial factories, or as you and I know it - a battery.{16}{7}^{7}Poor Edmond is destined to spend his life inside it, trapped... Message 192 As Edmond touches the antimatter there is a large explosion. If Edmond was still alive he would have made a mental note not to try that again, but as he isn't - he can't... Message 193 The antimatter is sucked away by the hoover. Message 194 Unfortunately, the hoover was not designed to hold unconverted antimatter and it explodes. Nothing is left of it. Message 195 Due to the effect of the weird nozzle attachment, it's stored safely. Message 196 The chip easily slides into the hole and there is a hum of energy. Suddenly the western wall crackles with energy and a huge black hole opens up in it. Well, it's huge to Edmond but then his experience of black holes is negligible. Message 197 Edmond jumps through the black hole... Message 198 Matthew Einstein says, "{16}{6}Just vot I need for my special machine. I vill call it ver 'Gold Leaf Electroscope'.{16}{7}" He hands Edmond a box. "{16}{6}Here, have this.{16}{7}" Message 199 Edmond moves the bench, and finds a nozzle behind it. Message 200 Edmond turns his nose up in disgust. Message 201 Edmond shouts, "{16}{6}Let me out!{16}{7}".^{7}Unfortunately, I can't print what the jailer shouts back! Message 202 On what and which colour? Message 203 There is an ear-piercing whine as a huge portal appears in the centre of the location. Message 204 The portal disappears. Message 205 To be kind to the programmer, Edmond doesn't. After all, he doesn't want to create a paradox situation. Message 206 Edmond wonders why as the portal's already here. Message 207 One of the workmen says, "{16}{6}Fanks, mate. 'Ere, 'ave this, it was left over from when us lot painted the, er, other universe thingy.{16}{7}" He hands you a spray can. Message 208 How? Message 209 It's got something in it already! Message 210 Edmond puts some petrol in the bottle. Message 211 Edmond enters the portal and finds himself in... Message 212 How do you know that it is the correct number, eh? Message 213 Not again!!!! Message 214 Edmond pours the petrol into the orbital! Message 215 Edmond forces the pebble down the end of the trumpet. Message 216 Edmond floats back gently to the floor. Message 217 There is a strange nozzle attached to it. Message 218 Edmond attaches the nozel to the hoover, and it fits perfectly. Message 219 To what? Message 220 No way! It looks too dark to venture into there. Message 221 The quark gleefully scurries off... Message 222 Edmond takes the pills out of the bottle. Message 223 You see no reason for filling the bottle at the moment! Message 224 You see no reason for emptying the bottle at the moment. Message 225 If you ask any scientist what the atom looks like, they'll probably tell you that it consists of a nucleus made up of protons and neutrons, which is orbited by electrons. Message 226 That is complete and utter rubbish! Message 227 To teach you exactly what the atom and its surrounding 'bits' look like, DTHS proudly (ahem!) present this game... Message 228 "{16}{5}{19}{1}THE LIFE OF A LONE ELECTRON{16}{7}{19}{0}"^{7}^{7} {16}{6}by Gareth Pitchford Message 229 ^{7}{16}{6}(but, please note, all the hard^{7} work of programming, amending,^{7} correcting design-faults,^{7} polishing, and de-bugging,^{7} were done by Scott Denyer!) Message 230 In this highly educational game (parents take note!) you play Edmond, an accident-prone electron. Edmond hasn't had a very good day so far. He has crash-landed his 'orbital' in the city of Elektronz which lies, ooh, a long way away from his home town. So how is he going to get back, eh? Message 231 This is where you come in. Simply guide Edmond round Elektronz and help him find a way to get home. Simple, eh? In the process of having fun you'll get to know everything about the life of a lone electron!... System Message 59 On closer examination the window can be seen to mainly consist of air rather than glass since Edmond's smashing experience. System Message 61 Its large imposing black door stands to the north System Message 62 A large hole lies in the place to the north where a door once was System Message 63 , while to the southwest is a road. System Message 64 A large, round black mark is on the floor here. System Message 65 The only exit lies to the south, through a gap in the trees. System Message 66 Edmond keeps having to duck to avoid the rather kamikaze actions of a small neon-coloured quark. The only exit is through the door to the {16}{5}east{16}{7}. Location 2 ^{7}This is the landing. Edmond can see doors leading to both the {16}{5}east{16}{7} and {16}{5}west{16}{7}. Location 3 ^{7}The room that Edmond has entered is obviously for a baby. His glance idly takes in the neon pink 'elecky bear' wallpaper, the aquamarine sickproof carpet and the small window, and then rests on the black cradle in the centre of the room. Location 4 ^{7}This rather sparse room is the kitchen. Edmond isn't impressed at all by the single cupboard and drawer here. What he doesn't understand is that some writers have to do their games on a budget and there's no room for fancy decorations. Edmond can go to the {16}{5}east{16}{7} if he wishes. Location 5 ^{7}Edmond is standing further down the entrance hall of the small neutron. Rooms lie to the {16}{5}east{16}{7} and {16}{5}west{16}{7}, while before him are some stairs. Edmond can hear a faint buzzing noise. Location 6 As Edmond enters this location he realizes he shouldn't have done so for it's the living room and the two electrons who own the neutron are here watching TV.^{7}They don't seem too pleased at all by Edmond's unsolicited entrance of their house - in fact, the rather large male electron seems to want to communicate this fact using morse code on Edmond's head!^{7}Before I say '{16}{5}Game over{16}{7}', here's some parting words from Edmond. "{16}{5}Arrrrgh! Ow!{16}{7}". Oh well... Location 7 ^{7}Edmond is standing on the roof of the proton. A shattered glass window lies in the middle of the roof, while slightly to the left of that, Edmond can see a shiny new orbital. Location 8 ^{7}This room is provided with adequate light from the large glass window set in the roof far above Edmond's head. Location 9 ^{7}This is the entrance hall of the neutron. Edmond finds it a rather gloomy place, he'd much prefer to be in his own neutron back home. To the north, the entrance hall continues, while to the south is the door out. Location 10 ^{7}Edmond is standing in a small, one-floor, detached proton. Various rooms lie to the north and east while the demolished door provides an exit to the south. Location 11 ^{7}This is a pretty uninviting room, and Edmond can't see anything of interest in it. Location 12 ^{7}Edmond is standing outside a small two-storey neutron in Alphasigma Road. The door of the neutron lies to the north, the only other exit lies to the southeast. Location 13 ^{7}Edmond is standing outside a small proton in Alphasigma Road. Location 14 ^{7}Edmond is in a clearing circled by trees. Location 15 ^{7}Edmond is near the northern end of Alphasigma Road. To the northeast and northwest he can see electron houses, known more familiarly to you and I as protons and neutrons. The road leads off to the south. Location 16 ^{7}Edmond is in a small 'grassy bit' just west of the bandstand. Here, various creepy-crawlies and sub-subatomic creatures swarm around. Location 17 ^{7}On the small bandstand here, Edmond can see "{16}{5}The City Of Elektronz' Conductance Band{16}{7}". The rather painful melody is accented by a rather weird-looking creature playing the cello. Strangely enough, the crowd seem to like it. Exits can be seen to lead north, east and west. Location 18 ^{7}Edmond is in a small park filled with shrubs and bushes. There is a park bench here Location 19 ^{7}Edmond is standing in BetaGamma Street surveying the city of Electronz. "{16}{5}What a dump!{16}{7}" he thinks. "{16}{5}It's not even that^{7}big!{16}{7}". To the east lies Alphasigma Road, to the west a park while this street continues to the south. Location 20 ^{7}The evidence of Edmond's bad driving is displayed here for all to see in the form of his crashed orbital. He appears to have demolished a large chunk of Alphasigma Road which runs north from here. To the west, he can see another small street. Location 21 ^{7}Edmond has reached the corner of Beta-Gamma Street. This is a heavily built-up area filled with seedy nightclubs. Location 22 ^{7}A large nightclub stands to the east of Edmond, its large neon sign proclaims it to be "{16}{5}Baron Von Clyde's Place{16}{7}". To the north is a street corner, while a small alleyway leads to the southwest. Location 23 ^{7}Edmond is standing in the nightclub. Flashing lights and lasers whirl round overhead as the crowd 'gets down' to classic hits by 'New Kids on the Electron' and 'Jean-Michel Proton'. Location 24 ^{7}Edmond finds himself beside some chairs and tables in the nightclub. Seated at one of the tables here is the owner of the club, the evil drug-dealing Baron Bonnie Von Clyde! Location 25 ^{7}Edmond has left behind the huge built-up area and is traversing a small field which continues to the south. He can still see the flashing lights of the city to the northeast, through the small alleyway. Location 26 ^{7}The field leads into Omega-Pi Street to the {16}{5}east{16}{7} and also back towards the city to the {16}{5}north{16}{7}. Location 27 ^{7}There's not much to see in Omega-Pi Street, except a few boring houses, as it doesn't go more than a few feet before it meets with the "{16}{5}Sea of^{7}Elektronz{16}{7}" which lies to the {16}{5}south{16}{7}. Actually, it's more of a lake, but the people of Elektronz have high hopes for its future. There is a small litterbin here Location 28 ^{7}Edmond is presently 'graviton paddling' in the "{16}{5}Sea of Elektronz{16}{7}". For all you non-electrons out there, a 'graviton' is a breed of electron dog. From his position with his head under the water, Edmond can't see very much. Location 29 ^{7}The banks of the "{16}{5}Sea of Elektronz{16}{7}" aren't very interesting places but that is, nevertheless, where Edmond now finds himself so I'd best give some sort of location description. Basically, the overrated sea is to the {16}{5}west {16}{7}and a dusty track is to the {16}{5}southeast{16}{7}. Location 30 ^{7}Edmond is on the dusty track which leads here up a hill towards a large building to the {16}{5}south{16}{7}. The sea lies to the {16}{5}northwest{16}{7}. Location 31 ^{7}Edmond is outside a large building whose door lies to the south. A sign near the door proclaims this as being the ^{7}"{16}{5}Inferiority Complex{16}{7}" which consists of labs owned by Professor Matthew Einstein. Location 32 ^{7}Edmond is rather surprised to find himself in the dubious position of being in another dimension. Yet that is indeed where he is. There seems to be a lot of antimatter swirling around here and Edmond skillfully dodges it (not wanting to be blown to bits!). The black hole, which he used as an entrance, provides a neat exit to the^{7}{16}{5}east{16}{7}. Location 33 ^{7}This is the western end of the lab. Equipment and materials are here, piled haphazardly on the benches. Location 34 ^{7}Matthew Einstein, the electron equivalent of Albert, stands here in the middle of the lab. He's an aging electron whose mad theories include one that the electron world is made up of smaller particles and... it makes Edmond laugh just thinking about it... that the electron world is part of an even bigger universe. What a prat! The lab continues to the {16}{5}east {16}{7}and {16}{5}west{16}{7}. Location 35 ^{7}Edmond is in the lab complex which continues {16}{5}west{16}{7}wards. He's surprised by the sheer amount of equipment piled on the benches here. The door leads out to the {16}{5}north{16}{7}. Location 36 ^{7}Edmond is in jail. Needless to say, he never passed "{16}{5}GO{16}{7}" and he never collected {96}200. He's not too pleased with you getting him here either. Sulkily, glancing around, he notices the bars blocking all windows and doors, and the cold stone floor. Location 37 ^{7}Edmond isn't really surprised by the presence of the workmen who stand here digging up the road. After all, even infinity has its problems. In all directrons around Edmond infinity continues, however due to the roadworks he can only go {16}{5}east{16}{7}. Location 38 ^{7}Edmond is standing at "{16}{5}The Last Stop (and we mean it!) Petrol Station{16}{7}". Location 39 ^{7}Edmond is at infinity. Here he can see sets of parallel lines meeting, as symtopes cutting an axis and all sorts of things that make infinity the place where all good mathematicians go when they die. A large portal stands here to the {16}{5}south {16}{7}while Edmond can see a petrol station to the {16}{5}west{16}{7}.
